About the firm

Right People, Right Solutions.

riskPlan consulting is a firm of Certified Public Accountants offering audit, tax and advisory services. We are registered in Kenya and Somalia, work across East Africa, and advise clients outside Africa remotely.

We are big enough to take on demanding assignments and small enough that every client deals directly with a partner. Our people bring international-firm training together with hands-on local knowledge of the regulators and the markets we work in.

We build lasting client relationships through personal service. Every client has direct access to the partners.

Direct partner access on every engagement, not delegated to juniors alone.

  • Risk-focused

We anticipate what could go wrong, not just report what did.

  • Value-driven

Outcomes tailored to each client’s numbers and goals, not generic.

  • Always current

Continuous training keeps us current on audit standards, tax law and technology.

Who leads the work

Senior ICT

  • AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner

Associates & junior accountants

Associates and junior accountants, each paired with a senior consultant who guides them on live client work.

Ongoing training, from accounting standards to our own methodology, before they take on work independently. So every engagement has more than one experienced pair of eyes on it.

Specialist experts on call

The right expert for the assignment.

  • Expert IT team

Systems, data-migration and digital-evidence specialists who examine accounting systems, logs and data integrity.

  • Quantity surveyors & engineers

Where an opinion on works, quantities, costs or technical condition is needed, we bring in qualified surveyors and engineers.

  • Trade specialists

Plumbers, electricians and other skilled trades, engaged when a specific risk assignment depends on their practical judgement.

  • Documentation & legal

Videographers and photographers to record interviews and locations, and legal professionals to certify data and documents.

All specialists work under our supervision and the direction of the engagement partner.

How we are organised

Firm structure.

Quality, risk and independence sit beside the Managing Partner, above every practice, so they apply to every engagement.

Why clients choose us

The right people, applying steady discipline.

  • Partner-level engagement

Every mandate is led by a partner, with the rigour you would expect from a Big Four firm.

  • Records-backed dispute defence

Objections, appeals, ADR and the Tax Appeals Tribunal, including reconstructing financials where records are thin.

  • Big Four training, operator’s instincts

Our leadership has worked on every side of the table: external auditor at a Big Four firm, CFO, and now consultant.

  • Evidence gathered properly

Forensic work is done at source and documented to recognised standards, with support through every level of the courts.

  • Clear, scoped engagements

Workplans and fees are agreed up front. No surprise invoices.

  • Fast, personal turnaround

A small team means quicker responses and one consistent point of contact.

Track record & credentials

We treat tax as an ongoing risk to be monitored, not something found out when a KRA query lands. Disputes are defended through objections, appeals and Tribunal representation, always backed by documented records. We apply the same discipline to our audit and forensic work.

  • Institutional audit

Internal Audit Head experience at Aga Khan University Hospital; audits of multi-billion-shilling, multi-country institutions.

  • Donor & public sector

UNFPA- and IPSAS-compliant reporting across multi-country humanitarian and development programmes.

  • C-suite operating experience

CFO and Managing Director roles in the energy sector across Kenya and the UAE: decisions seen from both sides of the table.

  • Forensic & investigative

Forensic examinations and expert-witness support. These engagements are confidential and are not named.
